Quilts Everywhere

A while ago I attended Jennifer Watson's open house for her renovated studio where she has her Long Arm Quilting service,  Quilt As Desired which is now bigger and brighter and allows her clients to access her business through a private entrance.
Her backyard was a showcase of her own personal quilts and those of her mother, Mrs Patricia Harvey-Watson and what a beauty to behold, enjoy.

September Quilt Club

After many hugs and giggles galore the new season for Quilt Club at The Cloth Castle came to order, as much order as a room full of excited quilters could manage.  It's like the new school year starting only better, no schedule or exams just the feeling of a continuous recess.  Enjoy the photos:

This is the picture of the quilt that Marilyn designed and hand-quilted that was accepted into the Houston Quilt Show, were all very excited for her.

He's a Keeper

This is what my hubby was busy doing yesterday, this from a man who restores vintage cars.  Yes, I watched how it was done because I want to learn how to look after my own treasures as much as possible.

Now that they have both been at the Singer Spa day I'm excited to push some fabric through, a humming we'll go.

Fall Wool Project

It's getting closer to being finished and will readjust the position of the leaves on the end, promise.

Stripping Along

I decided to peruse my stash and scraps to build up my strips using my Accuquilt GO one afternoon and this is what I came up with.

I know it doesn't look like much but really there is a strip or two in there though I think I'm going to have to do a bit more digging to add to the Neutral bundle.

I love to watch Bonnie Hunter's Quilt Cam on my IPad while pushing my fabric through the GO and catch up on any episodes I might have missed, so thanks for keeping me company Bonnie.

Stash Enhancement

Some goodies that I picked up while on a roadie with three great ladies and the side trips were Joann's, Quality Sewing  & Vacuum and Hamel's which is back on the Canadian side just before we headed back home to Victoria, BC.  Memories were made and my face still aches from all the laughing but isn't that what it's all about.

Now it's time to "find room for it all" as my husband always says after one of my fun adventures.

Fidget Quilt

A guilty group I meet with suggested we all make a Fidget Quilt for our local Alzheimer's Society, the idea is this gives the individual something to do with their hands as they become fidgety and this is soothing for them. It's all about texture and one must keep in mind that these articles must be able to withstand hot water as they'll be washed frequently.  Precise piecing and stitching isn't necessary so it makes it a relaxed project also for the sewer.

I researched on the internet what should and shouldn't be on them so there is a ton of information out there and I hope that this will be used lots.  I wished there wasn't even a need for this but that's not true so let's help where we can.

Suggestions

I would like to Hand-stitch this down so should I use an embroidery thread or something like 50W Aurifil with a long running stitch.  Any suggestions on thread color too, please?  I pieced it on my 301A Vintage Singer and it measures 12" by 20" and I want to use it on my end table.
