Wrestling my Christmas Quilt

Yesterday I wrestled my Christmas quilt and added the binding, now to stitch it down and add the  hanging sleeve.  I was a good girl and did all my domestic chores before settling into my sewing room, gotta keep those dust bunnies at bay sometimes.
Notice how I wrapped my binding around the knee lift, it worked really well and I only had a few twists, there's more than one way "to skin a cat".
The last touch will be a quilt label and I'm liking the looks of the ones that are added to the binding in the corner at an angle.  Note to self, if I'm going to do that I best be doing it before the binding is stitched down right!

Where did that month go

I admit I'm a lazy blogger but more than that I've lost my mojo so if you've found it please send it back to me ASAP, please.
Here is a sampling from last month's Quilt Club which is hosted by one of our local quilt shops, The Cloth Castle.   You'll always see something different from quilting to knitting so sit awhile and enjoy.

Daphne Grieg gave an interesting presentation on her association with Northcott Fabrics and brought a show and tell of her own.

Not one but two

So much for getting any machine embroidery done as both of my embroidery machines are down, the Husqvarna Ruby and Bernina 830 are both having issues so all I can say is thank goodness for my Vintage Singer Machines.  This is the second time for the same problem with the Husqvarna  so ask me how impressed I'm with it right now, especially when there are Christmas projects planned for.  One begins to ask themselves if all that money you pay for these machines is really worth it.
Will do some regular piecing today and nurse an awful root canal procedure but on the bright side it's not long until Bonnie Hunter reveals her GI Mystery Quilt, only three more days.

Slower than slow

Some days are just like that when you wish for projects to fly off your machine but the Feathered Star isn't one of those.  This project takes time, nobody said you can do it in a day, or week or month in fact but patience isn't my forte and I'll survive and yes it'll be worth the time and effort.  The good thing is while it's stitching away I can be working alongside on another machine.

So I've decided to make myself another travel case for my little Rowenta iron and that's the project that'll keep me sane while I feed thread through the embroidery machine for the Feathered Star project.
