Getting Closer

With the building blocks almost completed I'm getting closer to constructing the main components of Bonnie Hunter's GI Mystery Quilt and it feels fabulous.  I remember when I first started the project I thought this is really taking me out of my comfort zone and thanks to my Hubby who literally stood by me at the sewing machine and said "you can do this Kathy" I realize that comfort doesn't always teach you new skills.
Yes, I would've been farther along but like everyone else, life can make you stand up and take notice of the important things which it did for me in December and I have no regrets.

I'm not a prolific blogger but this is my 200th post and I think that should be celebrated with a giveaway and as quilters that'll mean some fabric and other goodies, just not sure what but hopefully you can trust my good judgement and yes I can see your eyes roll!  So please leave a comment on this post and I'll let the Random Generator called my Mother pick a number because she just thinks that is so much fun!  I'll leave it open until next Sunday, Feb 8 so there is oodles of time to get your name in. Good luck and just so you know there probably will be some chocolate coming your way too!

2015

My oldest Granddaughter wanted me to teach her how to sew and with my Mom's old Kenmore machine we put together an apron for her.  I was tickled to help her and within an hour she now has a new apron and will think of sewing with Gramm when she wears it.  That little Kenmore even being plastic has been the best little machine, it'll sew through heavy denim no problem, I always have a jean hemming session when I'm back in SK, I"m sure they stockpile them.

I would like to thank everyone for all their support on the blog, it was a stressful time these past three weeks, losing my oldest brother was heartbreaking but with time the hurt will lessen.  Though I didn't respond individually to all your kind comments know I read them and felt comforted by them, many thanks.

But we are home at last and looking forward to a new year and wishing everyone all the best that 2015 can be.
